Stills Moving Behind the Scene
Story of Stills Moving
10 Years in the making
In 2014, the journey began with accompanying family at the hospital, where the initial outlines of the script were penned.
Subsequently, we started initiating consultations with patient groups, leading to a collaboration with the Motor Neuron Disease Association on crowdfunding for this film, and later jointly engaging in planning future initiatives for disease awareness and education with the association.
After years of interviews and consultations with patients, medical professionals, and social workers, the team was inspired by the stories from the interviews and decided to use a combination of stop-motion animation and live-action filming.
The process of creating stop-motion animation, capturing each movement frame by frame, second by second, is both a challenge and time-consuming. However, this combination closely mirrors the daily challenges faced by ALS patients. We hope through this combinations to vividly portray the protagonist's inner emotions and, more importantly, to act as a tribute to those combating Disease — despite facing various challenges, their hearts and emotions continue to move forward relentlessly.
